You Will Remember Me by Hannah Mary McKinnon
BOOK: 53 OF 2021
RATING: 3/5
I was craving a bingeable thriller for the long weekend and this was the perfect book to kickstart my weekend.
A girl's boyfriend goes out for a late night swim and doesn't return. The next day, a man washes ashore with amnesia, and is reunited with his sister who he hasn't seen in two years. How do these stories intertwine?
What I liked about this book is the pacing: it was very fast paced and I had a hard time putting it down. Some characters annoyed the hell out of me and provoked such a strong reaction, a telltale sign the author is doing a good job. The characters I didn't mind, mainly Jack and Lily, were just not lovable enough for me to really care. I felt some of the reasoning for a specific plot point came out of left field, and to me, there was no twist in the book. I found it very obvious what was going on in the first quarter of the book and I was hoping there would be something to surprise me, but unfortunately, there wasn't.
Thanks to Harper Collins Canada, Tandem Collective, and Hannah Mary McKinnon for my copy!
