What I read in February

...it wasn't a lot! This is probably the least amount I've read in a month over the past few years. I was going through a big change at work and was much more likely to watch Netflix in my free time instead of reading. I watched Ginny and Georgia, started Narcos, Murdaugh Murders, and You.

All three of the books I read this month were three stars for me.

Five Survive by Holly Jackson: This is a 'road trip' thriller where a group of friends get stranded in their RV and cornered by a sniper, who claims they'll let them go only if the one with the secret admits what they've done. This took me 120 pages to get into; it feels a bit obvious the direction it was heading in, but it had a few twists. It's very hard to not compare to A Good Girl's Guide to Murder!

I Have Some Questions for You by Rebecca Makkai: Dark academia, literary true crime thriller - I was excited for this one. A podcaster heads back to her boarding school where her roommate was murdered and goes looking for answers. It was boringgg: a lot of perspectives and characters and generally was all over the place. It had so much promise! It picked up at the end, but not enough for me to bump it up more than 3 stars.

VenCo by Cherie Dimaline: If you want to read a story about witches coming together, a road trip between a girl and her grandma, and women reaching their full potential - pick this one up. The audio was good!
