The Push by Ashley Audrain
BOOK 13 0F 2021
RATING: 2.5/5
UGH. I did something I said I wouldn't do. I picked up a book and read it because everyone else was reading it and I wanted to see what all the hype is about. It's rare for me to do this and end up loving the book, so not sure why I did it (lol, sigh).
What I liked:
- Very readable, I think the suspenseful writing style really made it this way
- The narration. Marin Ireland is my favourite audiobook narrator and she did a fantastic job narrating this book
- The author is Canadian and I liked her background and how she became to be a writer and the story of how this book came to be
It's kind of hard for me to articulate what I didn't exactly like about the book. It just wasn't for me. I've read Baby Teeth, which I enjoyed, which is kind of similar subject matter in the sense that you have a kid who may be sociopathic and you don't know how far they're going to go. While I did really like Baby Teeth, maybe I didn't love this one because it felt like I read it already.
