Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat by Patricia Williams

BOOK 15 OF 2021

RATING: 4.5/5

This is a fantastic autobiography! Ms. Pat is a heck of a lady, a loving mother and aunt, resourceful, and funny. The fact that she's able to reflect on her life story and make a living doing comedy is inspiring and a testament to her character.

Comedian Patricia Williams (who went by her street name Rabbit when she was a kid) grew up with four siblings and her alcoholic mom, who taught her to roll drunks for money, and got by with petty crime, cons and charity. Rabbit pregnant at 13, became a mother of two by 15, and alone by 16. Armed with an eighth grade's education, an entrepreneurial spirit, and her sense of humor, Pat was determined to make her children's lives' better.

Also, this book was so good that I never googled her while reading it because I just wanted to read her story in her own words. Highly recommend this memoir!
