Memorable Moments in May

Okay, move over weekly wrap-ups, this will be more like a month in review since I have barely written anything for all of May!! With the weather warming up and summer activities kicking into gear it hasn't left me a lot of time or motivation to blog. But looking back at the past month, there's lots to write & reflect on.

Memorable Moments

Celebrating my best friend's engagement: A few weekends ago I saw my best friend for the first time in a long time and celebrated her engagement (and upcoming wedding!!) at Smith on Church St. in Toronto. First of all: the food was delicious and the company delightful. It was also a true summer day: felt like over 30C and was very humid!! It was my first time in downtown Toronto for a LONG time and was great to see the city buzzing. Lots of more wedding activities to come!

Winning a kobo: On World Book Day, Kobo teamed up with some bookstagrammers and had a few giveaways for their Kobo Libra 2. I, of course, entered all of them and practically fell over when I saw I was a winner for one of them! Like many people, I initially dismissed ereaders, thinking there's no way they could replace a physical book. But I soon learned in the words of Old El Paso commercial girl, "why not both?"

I adore my Kobo. If I had to choose I would choose it over my phone. I can read library books and digital arcs on it, it is incredibly portable, easy to read when I'm laying down in bed, and I find I read faster vs. when I'm reading a physical book. I've had my Kobo Clara HD for YEARS and it's served me well, but in the back of my mind, I've been considering upgrading. I'm so grateful and excited to have won one of the Libra 2's, and of course have already read quite a few books on it!!

Setting up my egg chair: Last year I was too late to the party and there were no more Hometrend egg chairs in stock but this year I hit Walmart up EARLY in like March to buy this egg chair. It lived in the garage for a few months and then the second week of May, I set it up and basically live in it when I'm not working. It is the perfect reading spot!
