Life's Too Short by Abby Jimenez
BOOK 34 OF 2021
RATING: 2.5/5
Oh man, I absolutely loved The Friend Zone and Happily Ever After Playlist. Unfortunately, to me, Life's Too Short was a big dip in quality.
Vanessa is a famous YouTube blogger known for her free spirit and living every day to its fullest. She still tries to keep up this attitude when her older sister leaves her with her newborn baby. Vanessa is shocked when she finds help in her gorgeous neighbour, hot-shot lawyer Adrian. Vanessa and Adrian 'play house' looking after baby Grace, and seem to be hitting it off even though Adrian's need for a super structured life conflicts with Vanessa's carefree charm. When Vanessa opens up to Adrian about why she lives life like every day is her last, things may not be the same...
I thought the characters were inauthentic, and didn't have the charm that Kristen and Sloan had. It probably didn't help that I have Jimenez's other two books so high up on a pedestal that I had really high expectations for this one. Just one of those books that fell flat for me. I do seem to be in the minority here based on other reviews I've seen, so if you did like the other books in this series, I wouldn't let my review deter you from reading this one!
Thank you HBG Canada and Netgalley for the e-ARC of this book.
