Book Review: UNSUB by Meg Gardiner

Book: 25/100

Rating: 4.5/5

Summary: Caitlyn, a cop following in the footsteps of her father, gets pulled into a case investigating The Prophet: a serial killer who stopped killing 20 years ago and was never caught, but now there are new victims who seem to be from the same killer. The Prophet is the killer who drove her father to near insanity: not being able to solve the case nearly broke him. Can Caitlyn do what her father was never able to do- can she catch this serial killer who is only ramping up his killings and engaging Caitlyn in a cat and mouse chase?

Thoughts: This is a new favourite of mine! I keep saying how I want to read book series, and this is one I can 100% get behind. I was about 3/4 of the way through UNSUB before I went to a library that had the sequel in stock. This was a book that had me hooked from the first page.

This book has everything: detectives, a resurfaced serial killer, and a badass female protagonist to root for. This isn’t one of those mystery/thrillers where the “who” did it is important, but the “why” are they doing this?! It was an addicting read and I totally binged it. If you like true crime, give this one a read!
