Book Review: Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Book: 9/100 Rating: 3.5/5

Summary: When Tate is introduced to her brother's friend Miles, there is an instant mutual attraction. Once that mutual attraction is out in the open, Tate and Miles realize they have the perfect set-up: she doesn't have time for love, and he doesn't want love. Cue: friends with benefits. This whole arrangement could go according to plan if Tate follows Miles' only two rules:

1. Never ask about the past

2. Don't expect a future.

To no one's surprise, Tate won't be able to handle it.

Thoughts: Colleen Hoover is one of my favourite authors, and I feel like I have VERY high expectations for her books especially given I read It Ends With Us and Verity first. Ugly Love was a good, quick read, and definitely her steamiest I've read to date. I liked Tate's character (CoHo always writes such great female leads); Miles left a bit to be desired because I've read the "quiet, cranky, can't commit" trope enough times. This wouldn't be in the top 3 of her books I'd recommend, but if you're looking for something well written with some good steam scenes then this one is for you!
