Book Review: Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman
Book: 158
Rating: 3/5
This book was both enjoyable yet disappointing. I was really hoping for a magical, witchy book, but this one was more family drama (which I do typically enjoy, but because I had different standards for this one it fell flat for me).
Gillian and Sally grew up with their aunts in a small Massachusetts town, where they were taunted, talked about, and pointed at with whispers and accusations of magic and witchery. When they both grow up, one stays in the hometown, one moves away, and it's a tragedy that brings them together again.
This is a very rare case where if you've seen the movie, you don't necessarily need to read this book. I definitely found the movie more enjoyable than the book! But I will continue to read this series as I've heard the others are much better (and witchier!)
