Book Review: One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London
Book: 92/150
Rating: 5/5
After plus size fashion blogger Bea Schumacher publishes a drunken blog post about all of the problems with ‘Main Squeeze’ (mainly their lack of body diversity), she is approached to star in the show. She’s hesitant but ultimately agrees on one condition: she won’t actually fall in love. She’s here to inspire women across America, subvert harmful anti-fat beauty standards and supercharge her career. But with the fantasy dates, kiss-off ceremonies, and some intriguing suitors: can Bea really avoid falling in love? This book was SO FUN. Body positivity? A fun, career driven, genuine protagonist? Reality TV and behind the scenes drama? Soooo good! Bea is so great and lovable: she has a great support system as well and it was really great to watch her be the centre of attention and fall in love. She gets a ton of crap flown her way which she deals with way better than I could have. This book is a perfect summer read. I am a huge fan of the Bachelor/Bachelorette and will consume it in any sort of fictional account. This book came out July 7, so be sure to check it out! Thank you @netgalley and @randomhouse for a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
