Book Review: Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson

Book: 91/150

Rating: 5/5

Summary: Pip Fitz-Amobi is not a detective anymore. With the help of Ravi Singh, she released a true-crime podcast about the murder case they solved together last year. The podcast has gone viral, yet Pip insists her investigating days are behind her. But she will have to break that promise when someone she knows goes missing. Jamie Reynolds has disappeared but the police won’t do anything about it. And if they won’t look for Jamie then Pip will, uncovering more of her town’s dark secrets along the way… and this time EVERYONE is listening. But will she find him before it’s too late?

Thoughts: This was such a wonderful follow up to A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder- there is no sophomore slump for Holly Jackson! I’ve said it before, but Pip is the best murderino/Nancy Drew/Veronica Mars hybrid ever (check out my review for AGGGTM here). Her genuine passion for justice and her resourcefulness makes her the best at what she does. This book took me about 40 pages to get into, trying to remember all of the characters from the last book. Once the mystery started though I was fully sucked in. I love the use of multi-media in the book (pictures, podcast scripts, show notes, etc), it really makes it a fulsome story.

I would LOVE to see more of this series. You can’t tell me she won’t be kicking ass and taking names in uni!

P.S: If you’re interested in this one it won’t be released in North America until next year. I pre-ordered mine through Book Depository (based in the U.K.) where it published in April this year.
