Book Review: Confess by Colleen Hoover

Book: 42/100

Rating: 3/5

Read this if you like: star-crossed lovers, love at first sight, confessions.

Summary: Auburn Reed is determined to rebuild her shattered life and she has no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to become deeply attracted to the studio’s enigmatic artist, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a chance and puts her heart in control, only to discover that Owen is hiding a huge secret. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything Auburn loves most, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it—but can she do it?

Thoughts: I seriously would read anything Colleen Hoover writes. She is an absolute master at her craft. For me, this story didn't do much for me. The writing was amazing, but I just couldn't get into any of the characters.

I was really rooting for Auburn, and I did really like the confessions premise, and the care that Auburn and Owen have for each other is sweet (I was a bit creeped out by him at the beginning because he was very infatuated with her, but this is explained at the end of the story).

I seem to be in the minority here because this one is rated 4.23 on Goodreads. So if you like a dramatic love story that is extremely well written, give this one a go!
