Book Review: A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas
Book: 111/150
Rating: 3.5/5
This final book in the ACOTAR series starts off with Feyre back in the Spring Court to play a double agent and gather intel on what Tamlin is up to. With war looming, Feyre will have to get creative and make alliances in unlikely places to ensure Prythian is defended by a King who wants to see it fall...
As someone who hasn't really read any fantasy books, I think this series is a great foray into the genre! When quarantine started in mid-March, I saw a lot of bookstagrammers sharing this series on Instagram as a great fictional escape. Without access to a library (and a constant influx of books) I was having a serious book buying problem so had to buy this series.
I think I will eventually review the series as a whole (which I did enjoy), but in terms of the third book, it was just SO LONG. The second book introduced a lot of new characters and it was great to see them all come into their own in the third book but I felt that there was a lot going in the story but also nothing really at all? This one is less romantic that it's previous books, which is fine, but when you have an entire book centered around a war I would have liked to see a bit more action. The series did wrap up nicely at the end and I'm glad to see it will continue with one of Feyre's sisters as the focus.
