Audiobook Review: The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins
Book: 185
Rating: 3/5
Quick take: nothing special, but nothing overly boring. The small town gossip and all of the deceit kept me entertained. I did figure out the twist about halfway through, which always makes me proud but it also unintentionally takes away from my enjoyment of the book.
Jane has never had much luck. Growing up in foster care, never really having someone look out for her, and now has amounted to a dog walker in a high-end gated community where she gets by stealing items that won't be missed from her rich clients. Then comes Eddie: the handsome local widower who has money, and something even better for Jane... the kind of protection she's always wanted.
As Jane gets more integrated in the Thornfield Estates community, she is haunted by Eddie's widow's legacy. Bea, the owner of a wildly successful lifestyle brand, who tragically died in a boating accident with her best friend.... or did she?
